To ignite scientific and technological dreams for teenagers, stimulate scientific interest and imagination, and enable them to learn about the civilization and future development of the automobile industry, 2022 Youth Automobile Innovation Collecting Campaign is organized by the Organizing Committee of the World New Energy Vehicle Congress and the Society of Automotive Engineers of China, under the guidance by the China Association for Science and Technology. It takes "Low-carbon Travel in My Mind" and solicits works from teenagers aged 18 and below. More than 30 provinces and cities nationwide have made active response and participated in the collection. Nearly 8,000 works have been collected, of which 50 works will be shortlisted for the final evaluation after the initial evaluation and re-evaluation by the Event Expert Committee.

In this event, 10 innovative works, 15 excellent works, 25 outstanding works, and 554 creative works will be selected finally. Remarkable works will be displayed during the Congress, and honorary certificates will be issued.

As the concurrent activity of the 2022 World New Energy Vehicle Congress, the new energy vehicle tour around the island was officially launched on August 27th. The motorcade will set off in Haikou in September, and travel counterclockwise around the island for 1300km， counterclockwise around the Island to visit many famous tourist attractions in Hainan Province. During the Tour, offline science popularization exhibitions at five stations will be organized in conjunction with Hainan Province's clean energy demonstration and intelligent driving tests, reaching multiple schools, villages and towns. Interested parties will make joint efforts to promote the development of the new energy vehicle industry, to demonstrate the current energy consumption level, charging efficiency and intelligence of new energy vehicles.

It is mentioned in government work tasks in 2022 that it is necessary to foster the development of venture capital, boost mass entrepreneurship and innovation, and put the innovation-driven development strategy into practice. Under the background of peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality, we will solicit innovative projects with investment value in the automotive field globally, and pay close attention to investment companies and institutions concerning the automotive field, so as to propel resource docking, expand investment and financing channels of the industry, and drive the marketization of entrepreneurial projects. The forum focuses on innovation in the automobile industry and technology investment and financing, and gathers industry leaders, academic experts, investment institutions and cutting-edge technology companies at home and abroad, who will share insights, exchange forward-looking trends, and discuss the new future of the automobile industry. A resource network centering on automobile innovation will be built to boost the automotive industry to develop by leaps and bounds.

In order to promote the integrated development of new energy vehicles and renewable energy (EV-RE) in China, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, together with China Society of Automotive Engineers as acting agency, launched the Integrated Application of New Energy Vehicles in China Project (GEF-6) in 2018, which is also supported by the Global Fund. The project has demonstrated a variety of application scenarios in many cities and achieved remarkable results. To summarize and share experience of the GEF-6 Project, the team together with industry experts compile and publish the Technical Guidelines for EV-RE Integration, in the hope of providing reference and technical support for the integrated development of EV-RE in the world.
