SAIC GM Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as SGMW) is a large Sino-Foreign Joint Venture automobile company composed of SAIC Motor Corporation Limited (50.1%), GM (China) (44%), and Guangxi Automobile Group Co., Ltd (5.9%). It is the first Sino-Sino-Foreign joint venture in China that came into being in the reform of mixed ownership of state-owned enterprises, which has successfully created the typical model of "less the possession and more the value of the Company in the society". It has such three valuable Chinese car brands as "Wuling" ,"Baojun" and "New Baojun". SGMW has always been upholding the spirit of "Perseverance with Self-strengthening", and the concept of "getting rid of backwardness, striving for development, and brining benefits to people". Besides, it adheres to the principle of user-orientation to provide users with high-quality products and service. In 2020, SAIC GM Wuling's overall annual sales exceeded the 1.6 million and achieved year-on-year and month on month growth for nine consecutive months. It has not only become the national brand with the first sales volume, but also been recognized by more than 23 million users. It is a national automobile enterprise with the largest number of users.
Currently, SGMW has four manufacturing bases at home, respectively known as Liuzhou Hexi headquarters, Liuzhou Baojun base, Qingdao Branch and Chongqing Branch, set up PT SGMW Motor at Indonesia, forming the development layout featuring "North-South cooperation and East-West interaction". SGMW has a total of 2,800 sales outlets in China, covering 98% of prefecture-level cities and 79% of county-level cities, ranking first in the industry by network coverage. In terms of research and development (R&D) system, SGMW has always been adhering to the independent R&D model of "self-orientation and integrated innovation". SGMW has constantly learned, digested and absorbed these resources to establish and improve the vehicle performance development system and forward-thinking development capabilities with independent core technology.
Currently, car manufacturing industry is at the crucial stage of transformation and upgrading.
